My name is John and I’m an English language instructor from the UK. I enjoy helping people who are learning English as a foreign language. I also enjoy discussing topics surrounding culture & life in the UK and South Korea. I help learners of all levels with their English language skills and in particular, speaking. My style is to help make learners feel comfortable while practicing at their own pace. I also aim to free learners of any pressure & anxiety that can arise from speaking English. In addition, I suggest ways to help lifelong learning with regards to my learners’ English language needs.

I’m currently accepting new students.

With a CELTA certification and a Master of Science (MSc) in TESOL from the University of St Andrews, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from Korea, Japan, China, Italy, Spain, and more. I also have a background in International Relations which I studied at Keimyung university in Daegu, South Korea.

Let’s Learn in a Way That Works for You

I believe in lifelong learning and creating a space where my students feel comfortable, motivated, and encouraged.

1:1 Lessons

I use my own materials focused mostly on speaking practice and fluency. But it is also possible to use a textbook or an agreed structure depending on your needs. Whether it be General English or Business English.

Group Classes

Join others in relaxed, interactive group lessons! In a class of 2-3 learners, the sessions can be more interactive and engaging for all. Moreover, learners can support, correct, and encourage each other which helps the learning process.

Special Sessions

Using my years of experience and qualifications, I have helped learners with their English skills in a variety of ways. Things such as English interview preparations, tests, and specific English language examinations. I have also helped learners practice British English and other world Englishes such as Indian and Scottish dialects. If you have specific English speaking needs or areas of interest, I could be of assistance .

Thoughts on Language, Culture, and Life in Korea

I love writing about the cultural differences between the UK and Korea, reflections on daily life, and practical tips for English learners. You’re always welcome to read along.

Whether you want to build confidence, pass a test, or just have better conversations in English, I’m here to help.
